Final MOVE-ME conference report

The conference entitled ” New language learning tools for students in mobility” was successfully held at the University for Foreigners of Siena on 19 January 2018, in which the results obtained from the MOVEME project were presented and discussed. Andrea Villarini presented the general objectives that led to the design of the project, Laura Mc Loughlin presented in detail the contents and activities of the MOOCs prepared for the English language, Matteo La Grassa focused on those built for the Italian language, And, finally, Stavroula Sokoli described the characteristics and the contents of the OER database created to support the MOOCs, which will be made available to all those who wish to create distance courses for these two languages ​​in the future.

A short show of the Second International Conference held in Naples

The conference was our way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus Programme in 2017 – a milestone for Europe! – It took place during the two Erasmus days on 13 – 14 October 2017 in Naples in a central zone, near the Castel dell’Ovo and the sea.

The conference was an excellent opportunity for international networking and for sharing results achieved in innovative projects and initiatives. More than a hundred people enrolled on the conference.

Second International Conference on MOOCs, Language Learning and Mobility

The University of Naples L’Orientale together with Federazione Nazionale Insegnanti Centro di iniziativa per l’Europa (FENICE), as one of the partners of the project “MOOCs for University Students on the Move in Europe” (MOVE-ME) funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, invite you to attend the Second International conference on “MOOCs, Language Learning, and Mobility”. The conference will take place on 13 – 14 October 2017 at Palazzo Du Mesnil, via Chiatamone, 61 Naples in a central zone, near the Castel dell’Ovo, the sea and in close proximity to some of the best city hotels and restaurants.

Summary of International Conference on MOOCs, Informal Language Learning, and Mobility

On 20th and 21st October 2016, The Open University (UK) School of Languages and Applied Linguistics hosted the first MOOCs, Informal Language Learning, and Mobility conference. This international conference was attended by more than eighty academics from sixteen countries, European and further afield including China, Ghana, India, Lithuania and USA. Forty seven institutions were represented. Thirty one people presented their work, including two keynote speakers and poster presentations on the themes of MOOC design, MOOC evaluation, mobile language learning and Open Education Resources.

The project will create a learning path specifically designed for students in mobility programs, supporting them in the self-acquisition of the competences and skills necessary to understand and produce academic texts.
